the ARTof LIVING
awakened awareness to your true nature
Life is a creative process whereby we discover our role in shaping our 'reality'
We participate and co-create through the art of living
Practicing Awareness provides us with the tools to do this in a conscious way
What are archetypes?
Archetypes are the basic building blocks of the human psyche which drives all our motivations and behaviours. It's our psychological make-up, or inner cast of characters if you will. Each archetypal part has a unique set of meanings, impulses and character traits for example the warrior, the nurturer, the adventurer.
Archetypes are the universal principals and patterns both transcendent and immanent underlying all levels of systemic recursion. They are the governing principals in the background of all experience and manifest within and through our thoughts and feelings, drives and desires, and through circumstances and events in the world. This means that being aware of archetypes within ourselves and manifesting in the world around us, is a way of stepping into something vast and meaningful. It presses on us a greater discernment and moral agency to upscale our perspective accordingly. Your personal archetypal signature points to your life purpose and its unique participatory role.
Archetypes helps everyone to connect through a common embodied language. We are a hard wired storytelling species. We perceive, explain and make sense of the world through our individual stories and its unique archetypal expressions.
Understanding your archetypal patterns means understanding you.

How archetypal knowledge can change my worldview and approach to life?
There are three main benefits to understanding archetypes: Enrichment, Perspective and Tolerance.
It's enriching when you recognise the main archetypes of your life story also playing out in world cultures of human history, in art, science, mythology, politics, nature and various other fields. It adds value and depth to our personal narrative.
Clearing inner clutter – These psychic patterns of power are the means with which we create our reality through cultural conditioning and our own filters and believe systems - your personal ‘map’ of reality which has an agenda written into it. Thus, we don't see things as they are. We see it as we are. Often the meaning we place onto things, people, circumstances is something we created. It does not exist. It's not real. We're actually experiencing our thought projections, not reality. So we have to become very discerning to what we believe are our truths. Learning to perceive the world through an archetypal lens is a way of examining what's really the symbolic meaning of what's going on around me. Do I interpret it literally through my limited lens, or do I want to understand it through its underlying archetypal wisdom?
The Archetypal eye is ubiquitous and non-judgmental and thus it offers a new way of looking at the same scenario from a holistic perspective. It prompts us to redefine our inner reality, the story you tell yourself which will change your personal 'map' or internal state and outlook on life. To step out of our conditioning giving away our power, and reclaim our authentic archetypal vivacity. It is liberating.
Archetypes are the cosmic mycelium that binds us together and feed our stories. Archetypal insight fosters tolerance and demands a retake on the concept of 'otherness' as we realise that all people express the same archetypes just in various styles and forms. Being familiar with your personal archetypal signature and then also recognising a dominant archetype in someone else, for instance the rebel, the martyr or the visionary, – we realise we are dealing with patterns. It positions you not to take any engagements with others personally but adopt a neutral approach. We can apply this to all of our experiences in world events.
Thus, archetypes are a powerful and easily assessable set of tools that we work with to elevate our consciousness, support our development, and achieve our aspirations. Combined they are a set of inherited, inborn potentials that we mature into as we evolve through our life's experiences.
The meaning of life - the realization of our fullest human potential, which
C.G. Jung called individuation can only be found through a greater differentiation of consciousness by virtue of archetypes, and that ultimately our future depends on (these) relationships, whether personal or among nations, races, religions or socio-economic and eco-political demographics.
– M.L. von Franz, student of C.G. Jung.

How archetypal awareness can empower me to facilitate change, personally and collectively.
Archetypes are the macrocosm mirrored in the microcosm of the human psyche. Its multidimensional and polyvalent qualities underscore its inherent indeterminism. Thus, the vision, the mind that we bring into our engagement with the world, is in a constant recursive interplay with the world. It is all one and we are effecting it as it is affecting us.
This co-creative, participatory role of the psyche in shaping formative experiences highlights the self’s responsibility for its evolving fate. Developmental literature has shown that 98% of our behaviour is unconscious. We remain unaware of our real motivations — what drives our actions, emotions, behaviour, and decisions. That is when these archetypes act on autopilot.
Being attuned to and channeling your archetypal powers more constructively is a form of subtle activism as a shape-shifting change agent in the world.
For example, how does the warrior archetype asserts itself through me? Through intimidation, dominating and causing conflict or through leadership, being courageous, protective and goal oriented.
This alchemical path is one of personal response(ability) and real inner connection. The more you unburden your parts and sense of separateness, the more you begin to embody a sense of wholeness and connectedness.
The centrality of the Self and its archetypal parts -
We live in a time and era where passage through troubled waters requires the psychological arsenal to equip ourselves with a greater capacity to live with uncertainty and change. A deep trust in one's own capabilities that comes from developing psychological stamina. Each archetypal part offers a multivalent set of skills and qualities that we can tap into, and develop as we evolve. Thus, we become more aware or mindful of how we engage in our daily experiences and encounters and how we embody our inner powers. What do I bring to the table so to speak.
To ask oneself, is my personal expression of this archetype still relevant and serving my life's purpose or do I act in default mode, fuelling old habitual patterns, and I need to adjust and up-skill to what stands true for me now?
And how much more easily this Self-awareness dialogued with the many different parts within, some of whom have been yearning for attention for a long time. To monitor our internal ecology in order to regulate and maintain inner equilibrium.
Fine tuning one's inner workings has the tremendous benefit of becoming more critical in our choices and actions and how it impacts the vitality of our own psychology and of those around us. Each one of us contributes to the epigenetic profile of the collective and self-responsibility is pivotal to this process.
We all strive to live our best selves. Archetypal integrity prompts us to make that a priority, to grow and unfold into the next version or vision of ourselves. To come out of crisis mode, to take consciously charge of our evolvement.
Cultivating Self-leadership — Thus, archetypal awareness is a tool to further one's psychological growth by developing the full repertoire of our inner parts to their most life-enhancing potential and expression. It's an intentional process and ongoing commitment whereby we experientially engage with it in a whole-person integral practice. To bring out the unrealised, un-utilised potentia in yourself waiting for your recognition and cultivation. When you understand your Self better, your life will become better.
An archetypal approach fosters Self-awareness that enables compassion and grounding oneself to work with more integrity and reflexivity. Individuation in what C.G. Jung called the 'creative spirit' means knowing yourself, becoming more integrated, more enriched, more permeable to others. Attending to the multidimensionality of our Self. It's a shift in mindset where the separate self or limited ego-identity softens, a letting go of your personal attachments, expectations and control, and opens up to our higher Self; our full archetypal capacity of becoming. It is the most empowering choice you can make.
Spirituality of Self-leadership – As humans we are in need of an unveiling process to remember who we are at the root, re-evaluating our place in the world. It's an emancipatory process whereby the old restricting identity patterns of our internal theatre are transmuted into higher states of themselves. It is both intimate and impersonal. In this way, individuality and universal consciousness merge in the same person.
Hence, authentic Self-empowerment which morph into the collective and brings about a shift in systemic thinking. “Once a certain threshold of integrity and viability is reached, the work may begin to ripple out in ever larger circles of reach through global information distribution and thought leadership, as well as morphic field effects and non-local entanglement. How to engage with the complex issues of our time through processes of holistic change facilitators, engaging the whole person and engaging the whole system”.
Archetypes are the common denominator that we all share. It is not in the business of exclusion. It is cross cultural and ubiquitous in nature.
Explicating the archetypal eye provides a rich map of reference to draw from that is pragmatic in approach and outcome. Social change involves engaging these archetypal dimensions of our being more skilfully and strategically. Being highly attuned to your personal archetypal signature or psychological profile and its cycles of maturation provides insight to your own inner dialogue, and receptivity for the 'other' and their unique contribution.
It illuminates what needs to come into balance in order to move forward in reciprocity. When we identify these archetypal patterns of behaviour within any given situation whether as a leader or within a group, we can understand its underlying motives and work with it in a tangible constructive manner. It's a valuable tool to manage and steer change facilitation whether on the world arena, in corporate brand building, in the board room or 1-1 situations.
The deeply meaningful and liberating outcome of an archetypal mindset.
The archetypal framework is multifaceted, multivalent, ubiquitous and as such allows for a more holistic perspective — a transpersonal Awareness that awakens one to our unique role in the theatre of life, or divine play if you will. How the fractal patterns underpinning human development mirror those of the cosmos. As such we develop a higher order integral consciousness, the objective psyche.
What it truly means to be a creator.
Collective Initiation - It is possible for all humans to learn to open to these invisible powers that are naturally available and find out how to live a more connected, aware and soulful life. The practical and experiential application of the archetypal model can pro-actively contribute to the paradigm shift our human evolution is entering.
Your personal archetypal journey can prompt deep Self-reflection, and when fully understood offers a world view that sees the human being as a centre of meaning, intrinsically interconnected and embedded in a highly creative, caring and intelligent cosmos. You will learn to see the grandeur and significance of what is unfolding that you are participating in. Your cosmic footprint matters.
Over time we cultivate the capacity to look at life through its archetypal wisdom, reassessing our ego constrains and cultural conditioning. To have the courage to listen to our authentic voice and walk in the right direction with a deep inner conviction. Then life becomes more of a dance, a subtle interaction between archetypal forces and human awareness — a play of consciousness in which we co-create.
